The Pain of Letting Go

The Pain of Letting Go

Over many years I have learnt that if I can fel the pain, then I am able to let it go. I suppressed the pain for so many years by hiding under the blankets, the pillow was drowned by my tears that flowed growing up. Once I realized what I was doing wrong, it was time to unleash the power within me so I could bring out those tears once and for all, to open up that bag of emotions that had burdened me for so long. It was time to let go of all the negative emotions, the stories, excuses, but most of all the pain I had been enduring. I made a decision to myself that day that it was time to create a new story!

To be able to let go, I had to revisit the hidden memories deep inside my mind and find the eruditions. I dug, and I dug and eventually, I took them out, cleaning them one by one, polishing them until I reached where I am now. Don’t get me wrong, it was painful and burned me to my core. It was the pain I had tucked away for such a long time. Nobody could understand or imagine that behind the brave face I held so well, that there was another story behind me, just like everyone else. I’ve never told the story to other people as the pain associated with it was too harsh to bring out into the world.

I did it all myself by picking a close friend to expose my identity to; the nakedness and the rawness of the pain was emptied out. I emptied that cup to its core. After that, I realized there was so much more I could do and give to continue moving forward. I emptied those teas that overflowed the cup over the years. That pain no longer shadows me; it no longer lingers in my conscious mind; it longer has control over me. The pain is no longer hidden in that dark hole it once dug inside of me, my heart and soul are free.

Now, I’ve cleansed my mind and exposed the pain. It’s done, dusted, whitened, and painted over with a brighter picture, with the story of my self growth, self-worth and the person I am today.

The pain of letting go is the pain of change. It is a reminder that the only thing constant in life is change, and that we must learn to embrace it, not fear it. No one ever said that letting go was easy. It’s one of those things that we know is right, but it’s hard to do. We all have those people in our lives that we love and care about, but we know they are not the person for us anymore. If you have someone in your life that you feel this way about, it’s important to let them go and move on. The pain of letting go is the pain of change and you will find happiness again.

The pain of letting go may also be a call to action, a reminder that we need to make new choices if we are to live a fulfilled life; it’s a call to action that brings you closer to the person you love than ever before.

It’s important to understand that while letting go can be painful, it isn’t always negative; sometimes letting go is necessary for your own growth and happiness.

If I hadn’t experienced all that pain through the things I went through, and for the things I hadn’t gone through, you would not see the Sarah you do today in front of you. I had to push myself, grow, and discover my identity. The negative emotions had to be shoved to the side as well as the fears, anger, sadness, and guilt for the pain to be kept away; like the waves that brush against the beach and move each sand particle away, one by one. Then cleanse them; just like those same waves wash the beach’s shore from impurities. I incorporated that with my emotions, story and my pain.

The lesson I learnt along the way was that nobody deserves to be there, dissociating from their issues. Nobody deserves to keep their pain hidden from the world. Take it all out and clean them once and for all. Open up that close, take out your skeletons, polish them, dress them and put them back in, in prestige.

You are how YOU define your stories. Elucidate your stories in a more positive light and allow them to be another lesson for somebody’s life who has also been crushed by their pain. Allow your stories to withdraw suppressed emotions from others, thinking they’re only okay not to notice that their baggage has been heavy that’s brought them down, that’s created all these diseases. They can grow, stand up, create the best version of themselves and be a teacher to those who suffer the same pain. Teach them that without the lessons they had gone through, they would be unable to stand on their two feet today.

Some stories are sad, but they’re amazing. If it wasn’t for those sad stories, you wouldn’t have felt all the emotions, to be able to help all the people in the world that have already felt those feelings, because then you cannot connect with people. How could you connect with somebody if you haven’t experienced a similar pain? Be grateful for the pain that you have, because that’s what elevates you to get you. It gets you to communicate better with other human beings and allows you to understand everybody to their core, your experiences, a vision of your future, and your vision of your past.

There are symbols of how to grow anything, and accomplish anything that you want. They symbolize and help you choose how you want your life to be as it’s your choice at the end of the day.

You’re the one that’s holding the pen that’s writing the story. Yes, there are some stories you didn’t want to write but your hands are forced to write them on the page. But now it’s time to go back, reevaluate the words, change the chapters, and create a better ending.

You only live once. Give yourself the best that you have.
