The important thing is not to stop questioning. Curiosity has its own reason for existence
Our daily lives are filled with distractions and attractions that appear to be harmless. In reality, they undermine us and make us small. Take Social Media, for example. We feel we must be present. We must make our contribution because this is the way in which we communicate. But at what price?
What is it costing you when you open your Insta page and see beautiful young girl, just like you, except these young girls are perfect and you know you’re not. They look stunning. Their photos look like movie stars. They dress beautifully. They have millions of followers. What is that telling you?
Your mind is constantly assaulted with images of ‘perfection’ usually manufactured to conform to someone else’s idea of perfection. Either you attempt to copy them and lose yourself in the process, or you hate yourself for not being good enough and give up. Either way you lose. This feeling of hopelessness, of not being good enough or smart enough or pretty enough, only serves to undermine your self-confidence, causing you immense damage which may take years to recover from, if you can even recover at all.
This workshop is focussed on helping girls find ways to re-connect with their own identities, learning to love and value themselves. The most remarkable thing about it is how easy and effortless it is to accomplish this.
We humans are frail beings. We fear what we don’t understand and few of us understand the breadth and scope of our own power. Most of us have no idea what our personal power can do for us, let alone know how to harness it. Wouldn’t it be a wonderful thing if we learned how to do this at a young age?
Different ways of thinking can affect how we see our world and ourselves. Learning to think differently allows you to gain deeper understanding about yourself and the environment in which you live. It makes sense of a complicated world.
